When Emma Merrigan came to Truman State University, she brought with her a love for foreign languages, and through her coursework, internship and study-abroad experiences, she turned that passion for languages into a career path.

Growing up, Mia Pohlman always wanted to be a teacher. Her experiences in high school and college, working with children and teenagers, strengthened her passion for the field. Although lesson plans and classrooms are traditional parts of the job, the Fulbright program gave Mia the opportunity to experience teaching in an unconventional setting.
