Biology Graduate Teaching/Research Assistantships
The Biology Department at Truman State University offers a limited number of Graduate Teaching/Research Assistantships (GTRA). The recipient of an assistantship is awarded a cash stipend of $8,000 for a nine-month contract and a fee waiver for up to nine credit hours per academic semester. All books, supplies, and special course fees are the responsibility of the student. The appointee is contracted to work on a quarter-time basis. Graduate Assistants are not eligible for other university employment during the GTRA contract period.
Graduate Teaching/Research Assistants are required to carry a combined total of 15 hours of graduate courses per academic year (a minimum of 9 hours in the fall semester and 6 hours in the spring), and to maintain a 3.00 graduate grade point average. All GTRA's with teaching duties are subject to the same faculty responsibilities, practices and policies as regular faculty members.
