Agricultural Science Student Organizations
Public university in the Midwest for 20 years running (U.S. News & World Report)
Because of the broad nature of the discipline of agriculture, multiple student organizations exist for nearly every area of interest for agricultural science students attending Truman State University:
- Alpha Gamma Rho
A social and a professional fraternity primarily for agricultural science majors though students pursuing other career paths may also pledge.
- Animal Ag Club
This organization meets the interests of our animal science students.
- Collegiate Farm Bureau
Chartered in 1999 as the fifth chapter in the state, the Collegiate Farm Bureau adds a new dimension to campus agriculture organizations.
- Delta Tau Alpha
This organization promotes and recognizes high standards of scholarship, leadership, and character among agriculture majors.
- Equestrian Team
Affiliated with the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA), Truman’s Equestrian Team attracts students interested in competing in either Western or English disciplines.
- Pre-Vet Club
The Pre-vet Club is for both agriculture and biology majors.
- Sigma Alpha
This professional agricultural sorority has lots of fun but also does many worthwhile service activities.

"Truman's Agricultural Science Department allows students not only to have plenty of one-on-one attention with professors, but also with other Agricultural Science majors. All of us majors are like a family and are willing to help each other out, whether that might be tutoring for a class or assistance in finding a summer internship."
