What are your hobbies?
I really enjoy cooking, especially Vietnamese food. I love challenging myself by cooking traditional Vietnamese food from American ingredients and sometimes spicing up some American dishes with a Vietnamese twist.
How has a Truman education prepared you for your career?
Besides academic knowledge gained in different classes, there are many helpful services hosted by the Career Center such as Career Fairs, Mock Interviews, and Etiquette Dinners. The Career Center also offers distinct services for international students to familiarize them with the American recruitment process and to bring them more success in their future careers.
What has been the most surprising aspect about studying abroad at Truman?
The diversity of the international community here at Truman was a wonderful surprise. It is really amazing to make friends with people from many different countries and learn about their cultures.
How has your experience at Truman changed you?
The openness and kindness of my professors quickly wiped out all the shyness I used to have. My professors in class are also friends outside the classroom. I am now more confident and I no longer hesitate to ask them questions either in or outside of class.
What advice would you give to students who are considering Truman?
There’s no brochure that can truly describe everything that this university has to offer. I believe that Truman is my perfect match and I am happy to spend the rest of my college years here.
