Why did you choose Truman?
Truman is very affordable, and I prefer small laid back places rather than large busy cities, so living in Kirksville was perfect for me.
How has a Truman education prepared you for your career?
My classes at Truman have trained me to manage my time well, to multi-task, and to produce better work. I feel Truman has prepared me for everything that could be thrown at me in a career in design.
What has been your favorite class?
Design I has been my favorite class so far! I loved designing and working on my own projects, and at the end I always had an amazing piece of art that was something I could be proud of.
How would you describe your professors?
All of my art professors are incredibly nice and fun to learn from. They are always willing to take time out of their day to help me improve a project. They know their field extremely well and demand the best of me.
What is your favorite thing about Kirksville?
I love Thousand Hills State Park, which is very close to Truman’s campus. It is very peaceful there, and it’s great to sit out by the lake or enjoy lunch with my friends in the park.
How has your experience at Truman changed you?
I take work and punctuality much more seriously. Truman has helped me to be more responsible as a student and as a designer, and I’m a better person for it. I have gained, learned, and experienced more through my education here than I ever have back home.

"I found it very relaxing to get away from the hustle and bustle of a big city and get the chance to enjoy all of the aspects of a smaller town. This town is a wonderful place to enhance your college experience."
