What is the atmosphere like for International Students at Truman?
The atmosphere is very warm. The Truman community is always interested in getting to know about our cultures and traditions, which is very nice.
How has a Truman education prepared you for your career?
As an Agricultural Business major, I have been given hands-on experiences through practical classes. Some of my classes were held at the University Farm, and I was able to directly apply what I learned in classes to our work on the farm.
What has been your favorite class so far?
My Introduction to Theater Arts class was my favorite class. As a liberal arts and sciences university, Truman requires us to take classes in many different disciplines. For my arts requirement, I took this class and I really enjoyed it. I was able to develop and show my theater talent on stage.
How would you describe your professors?
They are very helpful, and they will go the extra mile to make sure you understand what is going on in class. My professors know me on a first name basis and are always willing to help in any way they can.
How has your experience at Truman changed you?
I am able to critically analyze situations, and I am now more tolerant of different people, ideas, and opinions.
How would you describe your experience making friends at Truman?
It is made easy by all the friendly students here! Once they know you are an international student, they want to know everything about you!

"I found it very relaxing to get away from the hustle and bustle of a big city and get the chance to enjoy all of the aspects of a smaller town. This town is a wonderful place to enhance your college experience."
– Bethany Williams (’13), Communication major
