The Hon. Steve K. Willcox is a returning instructor in the Justice Systems Department who previously taught here in 2013 and 2014. He holds a B.A. in History and a J.D. in law from University of Missouri- Columbia. He began his practice of law in Kirksville, Missouri and started his service as Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, for Schuyler County, Missouri in 1975. He was appointed as the Prosecuting Attorney for Schuyler County in 1978 and was then elected as Associate Circuit Judge for Schuyler County, Missouri for a term beginning January 1, 1979. He retired as Associate Circuit Judge for Schuyler County Missouri January 1, 2011, after serving 8 terms over a period of 32 years. In addition to handling a full range of civil and criminal cases on his local docket during his service, Judge Willcox was frequently assigned throughout Missouri on special transfers from the Supreme Court. He has served as a Special Judge on the Eastern and Western District Courts of Appeals and on the Supreme Court. In recent years he has continued to work as a Senior Judge in Missouri, handling cases assigned by the Supreme Court.
