Sandra J. Rempe, for 14 years she served as Missouri's Juvenile Justice Specialist with the Missouri Department of Public Safety (DPS), retiring in 2010. Her unit monitored for federal compliance issues with juveniles and received funding with which they awarded grants for prevention and intervention services for youth throughout the state. While at DPS she served as a Missouri Drug Court Commissioner, served on the Missouri Commission on Autism Spectrum Disorders, and was appointed by the governor to the Missouri Department of Mental Health Transformation Working Group. In 2009, the National Coalition for Juvenile Justice awarded her the Tony Gobar Outstanding National Juvenile Justice Specialist Award. Prior to that, she was an adult probation and parole officer for 14 years and a supervisor at a juvenile office for 7 years. She has a master's degree in Justice Systems Administration from the University of Central Missouri and completed post-graduate work at the University of Louisville, completing the Juvenile Sexual Offender Counselor Certification program. She is a member of the Missouri Juvenile Justice Association, the Coalition for Juvenile Justice, and the Missouri Restorative Justice Coalition.
