Dr. Sherri Addis Palmer, professor, has been at Truman since 1992. She has a doctorate in developmental psychology from the University of California-Riverside. She earned a bachelor's in psychology, summa cum laude, from San Diego State, where she won a national award for her undergraduate research. Her teaching interests include Child Development, Life-span Development, LGBTQ Psychology, Introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attachment Theory, and research methods. Her research activities focus the effects of parenting on infant socioemotional development, as well as, community awareness of LGBTQ issues (particularly regarding healthcare and education). She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Parents Family, and Friends of Lesbians and Gay (PFLAG), the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Society for Research in Child Development (SRDC).
