Dr. Sandra Fleak
Professor Emerita of Accounting
Dr. Sandra Fleak, professor emerita of accounting and lecturer, earned a Ph.D. in Accountancy at the University of Missouri. She completed A.B. and A.M. degrees in mathematics at the University of Missouri and an M.B.A. degree at University of Central Missouri.
Dr. Fleak has taught various financial accounting courses at Truman since joining the Truman faculty in 1984. Her research interests are financial reporting and accounting education with publications in Journal of Accounting, Auditing, and Finance; Issues in Accounting Education; The CPA Journal; Journal of Accounting Case Research; Journal of Education for Business; and Quarterly Journal of Finance and Accounting.
She holds CPA certification in Missouri and received the Gold Medal Award for achieving the highest CPA examination score in Missouri in 1983 when she was also honored by the AICPA with Elijah Watt Sells recognition.
Dr. Fleak serves on several community organization boards. Other interests include gardening and reading. Her husband manages a family-owned commercial farming operation. They have one adult son.
