Phyllis Robertson obtained degrees from the University of Nebraska and Arizona State University prior to receiving the Doctor of Musical Arts in Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Iowa. She has been a member of the music faculties of the University of Iowa, Arizona State University, Central Missouri State University, Eastern Illinois State University, Culver-Stockton University, Blackburn University, and Quincy University. Dr. Robertson is currently in her nineteenth season as conductor of the Quincy Illinois Symphony Chorus and as a vocalist, she has presented a number of faculty recitals, Sunday Music Series vocal recitals, has sung numerous solos as a member of the Quincy Symphony Chorus, been featured soloist with the Quincy Symphony Orchestra and has performed seven roles with the Muddy River Opera Company. Presently, along with her responsibilities at Truman State University, Dr. Robertson directs the choristers at Salem Church, has a large private studio and is the performance coordinator for the Sunday Music Series of Recitals in Quincy, IL.
