Dr. Amoroso joined the Linguistics Department in 2015.  He is truly an applied linguist and has worked as a language testing consultant for both private and government entities.  He has also taught ESL/EFL in China and the US, and is focused on making linguistic theory relevant and useful to teachers and professionals inside and outside the academy.  

His research interests are oral proficiency, language testing, and quantitaive research methods in applied linguistics research.

He is from Colorado and has lived in New York, Wisconsin, Maine, Virginia, and China.  He is married with two young daughters, and enjoys bombing around country roads on his old motorcycle.
