Teaching interests: Latin American Literature
Professor Carreño Medina teaches elementary and intermediate courses in Spanish, along with upper-level courses in Spanish grammar, composition, Business Spanish, Latin American and Mexican Literature, and Hispanic cultures. With a primary academic interest in Mexican poetry, he has published four books of poems, Vigilias (2014), Serpientes y escaleras (2015), Guerra de palabras (2016), and Como si fuese a dejar la tierra (2017). He also provides students with the opportunity to learn more about poetry and film through the “Club de Cine y Poesía” he co-founded at Truman.
