Dr. Hyun-Joo Kim is the interim chair of the Computer Science Department, the program director for Data Science, and Professor of Statistics at Truman State University. She joined Truman in 2000.
Kim holds a Ph.D. from Statistics at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Her research interest is in Data Science Education, Statistics Education, Biostatistics, Statistical computing, and Statical modeling. She conducted undergraduate research and published several papers with undergraduate
authors and presented in various statistics and biology conferences.
Recently, her interest is in data science education at the undergraduate and graduate level. She is a founding member of Center for Applied Statistics and Evaluation and served as chair of Statistics from 2015-2021. She serves as an interim chair of Computer Science in 2023-2024.
