Audrey Viguier teaches French and French literature and culture, with an emphasis on the regions of France and the history of French/regional languages. Her research focuses on the French Revolution, and more specifically on the pamphlets written in French and Occitan, and Olympe de Gouges. Audrey’s secondary research interest centers on the separation of Church and State (enacted during the Third Republic, establishing state secularism in France). Her most recent articles include publications on French for Specific Purposes, Olympe de Gouges, revolutionary pamphlets, and Anatole France.
Audrey was nominated Knight of the Academic Palms (Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques) by the French government on July 14, 2016. The French Academic Palms recognizes those who have rendered eminent service to French education and have contributed actively to the prestige of French culture.
