The Alumni Association invites everyone to participate in TruCare, an international event where the Truman State University community comes together to volunteer locally to show Bulldog spirit by paying it forward. The Chicago Alumni Chapter will have two TruCare service events – one city and one suburb location.

At the TruCare event in the city at Lakeview Pantry, volunteers will assemble meals to feed families living in poverty across the Chicagoland area with the ultimate goal of eradicating hunger and poverty in our communities. Lakeview Pantry relies on volunteers to assemble bags of groceries, which are then picked up by drivers and delivered to those in need. Volunteers should dress comfortably and wear purple shirts to spread Bulldog Spirit! Spots are limited for this volunteer opportunity. Contact Mary Weingartner by March 24 to RSVP for the event.

At the TruCare event in the suburb location of Feed My Starving Children, volunteers will assemble meals to feed starving children across the globe. Feed My Starving Children relies on volunteers to fulfill its mission to provide healthy food to children on all continents. Please wear comfortable, close-toed shoes and and wear purple shirts to spread Bulldog Spirit. To comply with FDA standards, please do not wear jewelry. Spots are limited for this volunteer event. Contact Sarah Theriault by March 24 to RSVP for the event.

While Truman students are gearing up for the Big Event in Kirksville, we’re excited to bring that same TruCare spirit of volunteering to the Chicago Alumni Chapter. If you aren’t able to attend the TruCare event but volunteer throughout the month of March, please log your service hours online. For more information about TruCare, please visit the TruCare website.
