Debbie was born and raised in Chicago and graduated from Truman (then Northeast Missouri State University) in 1991 with a degree in mass communications.
Her first radio gig was at KTUF 93.5 in Kirksville where she started off as a DJ and ended up as news director.
Since then, she’s worked in radio in Greenville, S.C.; Columbus, Ohio; Madison, Wis. and St. Louis. She also served as the press secretary for Wisconsin Governor Scott McCallum and communications director for his campaign. Debbie has lived in the city of St. Louis for 13 years. Her husband, Steve, is an urban ag advisor for Hort Americas and is a 1990 Truman State University graduate. The couple has two children, a daughter, Caeli, born in China, and a son, Beck, born in Ethiopia.
