Two Pursuits, One Application
Truman has no separate scholarship application for Competitive Scholarships, saving you time and the hassle of finding a scholarship you qualify for. All materials that you submit with your application for admission are reviewed in the competitive scholarship selection process. Scholarship consideration is given to domestic candidates who apply for admission by December 1st.
Give us the (extra) Goods
Although not required, students who provide details about their extra-curricular involvements by submitting an activities list or résumé will have a stronger scholarship application. To make sure that you receive consideration for the most relevant awards, submit your document(s) with your admission application. Active outside of school, too? We love to learn about you! Providing details of your volunteering or how you started a new organization are welcome additions to your file.
The Competitive Scholarship review process begins in early January and continues until all awards have been distributed. Most scholarship recipients are notified via mail of their additional awards by mid-March. Most competitive awards can be stacked with both automatic and other competitive scholarships. Additionally, all competitive scholarships are renewable according to our Scholarship Renewal Guidelines.
But I'm a Transfer Student
Never fear! Transfer students are eligible for a number of competitive awards too! Head to our transfer scholarships page to learn about requirements and when you should complete your transfer application.
